Spurs Come from Behind to Beat City

2 late goals did it for Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Man City
Barclays Premier League - 05/10/2009

Tottenham Hotspur continued there brilliant start to the season after beating Man City 2-1 at White Hart Lane.

Moneybags City couldn't stay in front until the end after they took the lead in the 33rd minute thanks to a brilliant solo effort by Robinho which see him take on 3 players and finish from outside the box. Man City continued to look dangerous until half time. After the break, Spurs looked a new side and began to threaten the City goal. They snatched the equaliser in the 76th minute by a excellent strike from Peter Crouch. Dos Santos dribbled the ball in from wide to cut it back to crouch waiting at the edge of the box only to strike it first time into the top corner. Spurs then scored a second 6 minutes from time, Modric delivered in a floated corner to Wes Brown at the back post. He towered above everyone and powered his header into the near corner.

Spurs managed to last the rest of the game without conceding and made it 7 from 7 this season to extend the gap between them and Arsenal to 3 points, City then a further 2 points a trail.

Speaking after the game Spurs boss told Sky Sports "We created a lot of chances in the first half but didn't manage to convert any. We went into the break 1-0 behind and I told the lads to go out there and give it their all, and they did. "I thought we played magnificently in the second half and couldn't fault a thing we did. I couldn't be more pleased for them because they have put their heart and soul into it.

"We have a lot of belief about ourselves and the team is playing excellently, really excellently."

Another Great Month For Spurs

With the month of October it is looking positive for Spurs as they sit at the top of the Premiership.

They played 6 games this month, 2 of which were in the Europa League and the other 4 in the League. The results for these games are show below.

Tottenham are really showing the rest of the league that they are the team to beat as they sit at the top with 9 wins and a draw from 10 matches. The top 10 looks like this:

Also, Spurs' Royston Drenthe followed last month Player of the Month Award with this months Young Player of the Month Award with a string of excellent performances.

Spurs Still Unbeaten

Tottenham have managed to go another month without defeat, they are now on a run of 22 league games unbeaten, a new club record. The full list of results from November can be seen below.

Tottenham are still in all competitions and are still looking to finish as champions in the league. The league table is below.

Spurs will be looking to go into the new year still fighting on all fronts and maybe still adding to their unbeaten record. That's all from this month, Goodbye.
