Background Founded in 1899,TSG 1899 Hoffenheim are a professional German club currently playing in the German First Division. The club play their home games at Dietmar-Hopp-Stadion and posses top training facilities and an excellent youth setup. The club is affectionately known as Hoffe. As a club which is currently enjoying its best ever spell of success-their last competition win coming as recently as 2001-Hoffe are a club with a growing history. Hoffenheim finished runners-up in the German 2nd tier for the only time in 2008, finished runnes-up in the German 4th tier for the only time in 2007, and won the German 5th tier for the only time in 2001. Season expectations Hoffenheim are a decent German side that can achieve more than just avoid relegation so I think that you should choose mid-table finish. You get a really healthy budget (7.25M) to improve your side that can be increased to 10.5M by adjusting the budget. Squad Goalkeepers Daniel Haas -A decent keeper. He is nothing special and should be sold. Ramazan Ozcan -The best keeper in your squad. Although he is not good enough to be a first-team regular he should be kept as a back-up. Centre backs Marvin Compper -Your best centre back. Apart from being quite young he has also good potential. He can also play as a left back and can be easily retrained to a DM as he is quite versatile. Per Nilsson- He is a rock in the heart of your defence. Slightly as good as Compper and scores a lot because he has great jumping, heading and bravery attributes. He is highly influential and should be your captain. Isaac Vorsah – The young defender from Ghana has good potential. He is gigantic too but not good enough to play first-team football yet. Although he is a DM he can play better as a CB because of his low passing ability. He can also cover the MC spot. Matthias Jaissle – He is also a young CB. He is very versatile and can cover the DL, DM, MC spots too. Other than that he is nothing special and should be sold to raise money. Christoph Janker – He is not good enough for Hoffenheim and should be sold. Left backs Zsolt Low-The Hungarian left back can play both as a DL and as a ML. But he is getting injured for fun and should be sold. Andreas Ibertsberger- He is average and injury prone too. He can cover both sides of the defence and should be kept for a year. Right backs Jochen Seitz- Definitely sell him. He is quite old and his useless. You can get half a million for him. Andreas Beck- He is worth keeping. He is the best right back in your squad and with the right training can become a pretty good player. He can also play as a WBR. Side Midfielder Tobias Weis- He is not good enough for Hoffenheim. He is fairly average and should be sold. Centre Midfielder Hoffenheim’s second best area with a lot of quality players. Sejad Salihovic-The Bosnian is a great player. He is quite good at set-pieces and he is very versatile and consistent. A lot of teams are after him, but I think that he should be kept as it will be hard to replace him. Salim Teber- He is an average player that can cover the DM, MC and ML spots. He could be sold as you can make quite a lot of money from only a back-up. Luiz Gustavo-The young Brazilian DM represents Hoffenheim’s future. He is a great and irreplaceable player if sold. He can also cover the MC spot. Carlos Eduardo- The best player in the squad. The excitement and ambition is in his blood. An excellent attacking midfielder that scores, passes and does everything he is asked to. He develops into a world-class player. Francisco Copado-He is getting old and his physical attributes start to decline. Despite that he is very versatile and can play a striker and a ML. You could keep him till his contract expires in June. Offence The area that Hoffenheim is proud of. There are four solid players that would be good enough for most top half clubs. Chinedu Obasi- He is young and highly talented. Although finishing stats are really low for a striker he gets to pass and score a lot if played with a good finisher like Ibisevic. Vevad Ibisevic- The other Bosnian of the club makes the difference. He is a nice partner for Obasi and that’s why s he earns the first team spot. Wellington- Another young and talented striker. He is not ready for first-team action yet but could be used a replacement for Obasi. Demba Ba-The third best striker. He is really fast and strong and he is good at both scoring ones on ones and headers. You should offer him a new contract as his minimum fee release clause is only 7M and he could be stolen by one of the big teams. Areas of improvement Goalkeeper-The best choice is Vincent Enyeama. He can only be bought for 300K but he is good for most top-half teams. He also has good potential. Left back-Another area that needs improvement. Possible quality players that are really cheap are Paulo Ferreira and Damian Gimenez. They are both willing to come and can cover the spot efficiently. Centre back – You could also use another centre back. I think that you should go after Rivas Nelson as he is solid enough and he is transfer listed at Inter. Centre Midfielder-You need another centre midfielder as you only have one. I suggest Derek Boateng as he is quality for Hoffenheim and can be bought for almost nothing. If you buy these players you will then have 7M left that can be spent on a superstar like Vukcevic, Guilherme, Diego Souza or Rafael Carioca. Last edited by gavros; 23-01-2009 at 09:21 PM. |

I think hildebrand is there on the update. He will be when the January patch comes out anyway, as he signed for them on the 10th of December.
