Default Real Sociedad Season 8 [2015/16] New UPDATE!

Well I have now finished my 5 season Sociedad challenge, with 2 league titles, 1 spanish cup and a Super Cup under my name. However I am not about to stop playing the game, and as I start season 6 my squad is stronger than ever.

I already had a strong cohort at the end of my 5th season, a squad that won me the league cup double but I want to go further in Europe. Out went Metzelder, Zaccardo, Robinho, Uche, Congre, Javi Garcia, Jermain Defoe and more as I cleared out the squad. I was given 50mil to spend and raised about 40million from those transfers. In came some class regenes - Gorka Etxebarria, Jose Antonia Manazano, Damian Munoz, Carmelo Hernanax and Jose Manual Alson, all of whom will be quality in years to come.

I then snapped up 21 year old regen Matias Sand, Argentinian who is of top quality and should slot straight into my defence.

I activated Ignacio Camacho's 9million release fee to bring him from Athletico Madrid, before splashing 19 million on striker Alberto Paloschi, who I bought to secure our paper-thin (but high quality) strike force.

Davide Santon, who spent 2 years at the Anoeta on loan came permanently for 10million and will play at Right Back.

The biggest stir was caused by the 22.5million signing from Real Madrid of Ruben de la Red and then 27million spent on Miguel Veloso. To afford these I had to ask for both more money and wage budget, and edit them to fit my needs. I also sold various reserve players.

I felt like my midfield lacked experience, with Enrique, Sangroniz and Capdevilla all 21 and under. So De la Red, Camacho and Veloso will give this, along with Luis Jimenez, Mata and Steven Defour. It will be a season of much rotation.

My friendlies could not have gone better:

Charlton (A) 4-1 [Foti, Enrique, Carioca, Saivet]
Cardiff (A) 6-1 [Saivet (3), Sand, Marquinhos (2)]
Hull (A) 7-1 [Camacho, OG, Paloschi, Aquino, Kakuta, Sand, Marquinhos]
Sociedad U19s (H) 4-0 [Albiol, Saivet, Paloschi, Mata]
Crystal Palace (A) 6-0 [Saivet, Marquinhos, Wilson, Paloschi, Santon, Foti]
Man City (A) 1-1 [Camacho]
Chelsea (A) 2-0 [Fazio, Saivet]
Logrones CF (A) 7-0 [Aquino, Kakuta, Ormaetxea, Marquinhos, Paloschi, Saivet, WIlson]
Aviron Bayonnais (A) 8-0 [Marquinhos, Jimenez (2), Foti (3), Albiol, Mata]

With my new 4-3-3 we scored goals for fun. Then I decided to test my formation against Man CIty and Chelsea. It was too attacking at Man City so I adjusted it slightly to play Chelsea and we dominated them so I was very pleased.

Now we have Sevilla (A) and home in the Super Cup, before kicking off our league defence with Sevilla at home! So our first 3 games are Sevilla.

nice update, good move going for Veloso, Camacho De La Red by recommendation (by me ) nice pre-season, though i would only think of the Man City and Chelsea games as to go by as the others arent going to be facing you in any competition

good luck in the Super Cup

That is a brilliant season 5. Good Luck for season 6

You have sold some top quality players there but you have also brought in players who are world class and with a brillaint formation I believe you could go very far in the champions league as well as continuing your dominance in La Liga

Sevilla 0 Real Sociedad 2 Super Cup Leg 1

Today with my 4-3-3 formation we beat Sevilla two nil with ease. I started with the more conservative version which worked really well. Paloshi broke free after just 4 minutes to score. Sevilla ended up just playing infront of us and in the entire match we limited them to 9 shots, whch does not sound great, but none were on target and none were CCCs. Mata got us a 2nd, well worked goal early in the 2nd half and again we held firm. Overall we had 54% of the ball, 7 shots, of which 5 were on target. We also missed a penalty because for some reason Albiol took it?!

Sociedad 2 Sevilla 1 [4-1 on aggregate] Super Cup Leg 2

Two early goals from Marquinhos and Foti gave us a 4-0 aggregate lead as I played my main tactic. Then on half an hour Sevilla began to attack as they had nothing to lose. They managed to score 1 goal from a corner. At HT I changed to the more defensive tactic to try and hold them off, which we did well.

Our first league game was Sevilla at home.

I think a picture sums it up better than words:

With this result I am more confident then ever, I also think my tactic has played a big part and might release it soon.

We continued our good form with a comfortable home win over Gimnastic:

We then got put in the CL group with Chelsea, Celtic and Fiorentina. I am pretty pleased with this No push-over teams but Celtic and Fio should not provide too much hassle.

We started the group with a tremendous result, which leaves us in a good position already.

After that game we had two tough league games away at Espanyol and Ath Madrid, both games which we lost last season.

We dominated Espanyol with the conservative tactic version and should have scored more:

Then we played the best performance off the season to dominate Ath Madrid, with 61% possession:

And with Madrid drawing at Barca this is how the table looks:

So so far a perfect season I will be releasing the tactic in the next few days as it seesm to be doing well.

Never noticed this thread Jack but its great to see you carrying on beyond the 5 seasons and already you have another trophy in the cabinet! I agree with Ash this could be your best season yet. Having a steady tactic that gets results is half the battle and will look forward to seeing your tactic if you make it available for download. KUTGW!

Ha ha Ash there is nothing like putting pressure on the guy!! I am much more cautious about Jacks prospects because although he is doing well the Spanish League is still very strong and Real Madrid pushed him all the way last season. The Champions League is by no means a fore gone conclusion either cos anthing can happen in the knockout stages and the English teams are always hard to beat. On past versions of the game it was possible to build unbeatable teams but i don't think you can anymore.
